Piccadilly Basin, Manchester – Vantage Quay

This new build residential development is part of the Piccadilly Basin scheme in Manchester city centre and consists of 100 luxury residential apartments, combining the requirements of practical urban living with stylish contemporary design. The structure comprises a steelwork frame bearing onto a 6m deep reinforced concrete basement constructed adjacent to a canal. At ground level the steelwork columns are restrained by a series of deep transfer beams which adapt the superstructure column arrangement to suit car parking spaces within the basement area.  An automated car stacking system is used in the basement to maximise the use of space.
